What do you do in your spare time, then?

I'm afraid I'm very much restricted to indoor spaces if I wake during the day. I spend a lot of my time on the Network. In the evenings, I visit friends or go to work. It's not a particularly exciting time, but I enjoy it.

Not that the weather has permitted much else of late. I am presently in the process of securing employment, and I imagine that will take much of my time once it is done. Then there will be the matter of securing a more suitable residence, of course...

What sort of place are you looking for? Even public housing in the Up isn't bad.

It's very much not me and so it doesn't feel like anyplace but a prison.

Anyway, modern luxury to me is just very stark and characterless, not to my tastes.

Something warmer, then. Exposed wooden beams and white-washed walls? Or are you more of the luxe wallpaper and golden brocade type? ...Though I must admit, you seem to be more the type to prefer the former rather than the latter.

You strike me as the kind of guy who would be right at home in a cozy cottage at the edge of the woods, full stuff but not cluttered, not even controlled chaos. With high ceilings and lots of open space, but also textures? Leather armchairs and wooden floors, lamps instead of overhead lights, a stone fireplace?

I happen to like a little bit of clutter. But beyond that.

You have me at something of a disadvantage.

I didn't mean to make you feel that way. For what it's worth, I've lived in every sort of scenario, and am old enough that I appreciate modern conveniences for what they are. I'm a bit partial to more contemporary interior design, but that's a recent thing. Ultimately, my preference is just for comfort and luxury.

I can appreciate it, but I like character. There should be a story.

I like that. I miss that sort of thinking--it's been too long I've lived anywhere I couldn't let go of.

Aaaaaand then there's this place. Which, not to sound like I'm complaining, but most definitely leaves something to be desired. On the other hand, any shelter is better than none.

But if you're working, either way that means your needs are being met in that regard, yes?

I work to stave off boredom and to, hopefully, meet other people. As for blood, I have friends who've volunteered. I'm lucky that I don't need to drink particularly often.

Oh, that. Submissives can work if you get a Dom to vouch, and the owners of the club are, obviously, Doms. I got the job before I got contracted.

The City is full of big buildings, thankfully, that if I do end up caught outside I can hide until it's dark enough. Or, you know, find myself a big umbrella and raincoat. Not really the most attractive, but that sort of situation always prioritizes function over fashion.

I'm sure there are not many here that would refuse you shelter, given the circumstances. Storefront or otherwise.

Okay maybe I kind of do advertise being a vampire. But the POINT is that I work in the Up and I live in the Down and sometimes getting from one place to another is a little harrowing.

That sounds inconvenient. Haven't much experience, but wondered how it's even managed, at the very least.
